Providing education and consultation for brain-based learning with a focus on optimizing neurodiversity in the classroom and workplace
My passion for providing high-quality education opportunities surrounding ADHD comes from two-fold life experiences. First as a school-based occupational therapist and second as a mother to two children diagnosed with ADHD.
As an occupational therapist, I had a framework that quickly translated into successful strategies for assisting those with ADHD. Naturally, I examined the multiple variables impacting each child and found ways to use their strengths.
But, when partnering with teachers in the schools, I saw they didn’t come with the same framework of knowledge. This meant children were spending a large part of the day with teachers who didn’t have the tools to provide successful support.Â
And BOOM, light-bulb moment!
Educating the teachers made all the difference. And my strategies not only helped the students with ADHD — they also helped ALL the students in the classroom!Â
However, it took the personal experience with my two children with ADHD to really expand my vision for the critical need for education around ADHD. On my family’s journey, I realized ADHD education isn’t just for parents and teachers. It’s needed for employers, staff, physicians, and even psychologists.
So, my journey to understand and share quality information around ADHD became more important. As I shared my knowledge through speaking and coaching, I was greeted with such an enthusiastic response from teachers, education students, and parents. They were hungry for this knowledge because it makes such a difference.
Let me tell you, there is no greater joy than presenting or consulting and seeing the light bulb suddenly flip on! Because after that, lives are changed.Â
